Makeup Review: KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation

I recently bought myself this KATE Concealing Cover Powder Foundation. If the name doesn't sound familiar to some of you, let me just say that KATE is a make-up brand under Kanebo. It's more affordable but only available in Asia. Thank god we have online shopping, haha.

Actually, I've been eyeing KATE's products for the longest time now. I discovered the brand 7 years ago from Japanese magazines, but back then I couldn't even use paypal properly.

The powder comes in 6 shades and I got it in the lightest shade BR-C. It's actually a bit too light right now so I'm considering getting a refill in another shade, but during winter or spring it will probably be just right for me.

Anyway, I really like the smooth finish and the texture of the product. I do think it's better to apply it with a kabuki brush, though, but isn't it the same with every single powder out there? :D People hardly use the sponges included, but it's convenient to have one nearby.

Packaging: It looks great and I absolutely love the big mirror. My only complaint would be that the plastic is actually a huge dust and fingerprint magnet so you constantly have to take care of it if you want your powder case to look nice in your make-up pouch.

Pros

  • Once you have the case you can buy a refill anytime you run out of the powder.
  • Long lasting.
  • Contains a serum ingredient (water-soluble collagen)
  • SPF20/PA++

Cons

  • Can't think of anything else except the case.

Where to buy?

I got it from ebay and it was shipped from Taiwan. Turns out packages from Taiwan get here a lot faster than from China. It took exactly 10 days for the package to arrive and that was because it got to Estonia on friday, so it was pretty much sitting still for the whole weekend before it arrived to my home. So if you're lucky a package from Taiwan might even get to you quicker than 10 days. :P
