3 Concept Eyes Long Wear Eye Crayon in Baguette

I've been curious about the brand 3CE for a while now. I recon it must be quite popular, since I've seen it on many blogs & different online stores are selling it as well. Luckily I received 3 Concept Eyes Long Wear Eye Crayon in Baguette as a gift from BNT news this month.

These crayons are available in 7 shades and described as "long lasting eye shadow crayons that don't crease on eyelids". The crayon itself is a chubby eyeshadow stick that's fairly easy to hold and use.

'Baguette' is a warm copper shade with a shiny metallic finish. It provides rich color payoff in one swipe. The formula feels a bit sticky when swatched on hand, but didn't bother me when worn on eyelids. It is, however, waterproof and almost impossible to remove. (Everything waterproof is always a pain to remove, right?) That being said, I do think it lives up to it's name being long wearing. I did notice some creasing right across my lid, though.

I don't have much experience with eyeshadow pencils, but compared to some cream eyeshadows this cayon is definitely more difficult to blend. It almost feels like the color is instantly glued to my eyelids when applied. But I did manage to gradually blend it out to my liking. Considering this and the creasing it seems to me that this formula doesn't work very well as an all over the lid eyeshadow. I had no problem using it under my eyes, though.

Packaging wise, I'm not quite sure what's going on. I can give you a side-by-side comparison of what it reminds me of.

When I showed it to my boyfriend, he immediately asked "Is this a cheap MAC knock-off?". And I was like "well, it's not that cheap, actually". But you get the idea. Having a package identical to a well-known makeup brand like MAC can definitely give people an impression that it's a cheap knock-off. Especially if they aren't familiar with 3CE. So I don't know why they would do that. Their products aren't similar to MAC, so why copy their design? It goes as far as the materials used are completely identical too.

Leaving that aside, I do like the shade 'baguette'. It's a bit hard to blend, but has great color payoff. Creasing can also be fixed easily, but all in all, I don't think these crayons are really worth the price asked for them & and it definitely wasn't easier to apply than powder eyeshadows.

Where to buy?

I think the best place (price + shipping wise) to buy 3CE products from is Ebay. I found a seller selling all the eye crayons and many other 3CE products - cosmego. You can find the Long Wear Eye Crayon in Baguette sold here for $19.99.

The original price at Style Nanda is $17, but shipping from Korea would be much more expensive.

Have you heard of 3CE before?
What are your thoughts on it?

  1. so beautyful color ^^

  2. Sounds like a really great eyeshadow stick. I have seen 3 concept eyes on some websites and have always been pretty curious to try their products out. And I agree, choosing such similar packaging might not be the best idea!

    1. Sadly their description sounds a bit better than they really are. Depens how you use them, but I did notice some creasing when used all over the lid! :(
