Isiloe Premium Whitening Set

Although I had never heard of Korean brand Isiloe before, I was very excited to receive their Premium Whitening Set to review! I mean the beautiful packaging of these products definitely looks very promising, right?

The set consists of 3 full-sized products: Enriched Softener, Enriched Cream and Enriched Concentrate + travel-sized versions of the softener and cream.

Like it's name suggests, the main purpose of this set is to whiten skin. This doesn't necessarily mean it will make your face white, but it could make your skin tone a bit lighter. The main reasons why whitening skin care is so popular is because it also helps to even out skin tone by fading darker spots.

All 3 products had a similar mild floral, slightly sweet aroma.

Some of the key ingredients included in all these products are: alpha-bisabolol, ascorbyl glucoside, sophora flavescens root extract, mulberry root extract & niacinamide.

Aplha-Bisabolol – anti-irritant that has skin soothing and healing abilities.
Ascorbyl Glucoside - derivative of vitamin C that provides the benefits of vitamin C in a more stable and longer-lasting formulation.
Sophora & Mulberry root extracts - lighten age spots and uneven skin tone, prevent dullness.

Enriched Softener is basically a toner which you apply after cleansing your face to prepare it for what's coming next. It has a pleasant quick-drying finish.
Ingredients: Purified Water, Ethanol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Alpha-bisabolol, Olive Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Zinc PCA, Lactobacillus/Hippophae Rhamnoides Ferment Filtrate, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Rabdosia Rubescens Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium Adenosine Triphosphate, Algin, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract, Niacinamide, Sophora Flavescens Root Extract, Mulberry Root Extract, Pyrus malus (Apple) fruit extract , Pectin, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Astragalus Extract, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Arginine, Carbomer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, C12-14 Pareth-12, Sodium Acrylate/Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Polysorbate 80, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance. Enriched Cream is a face cream that you apply after using the softener. It feels very moisturizing. However, it contains several natural oils and even cupuacu butter, so it has a bit greasy texture and might not work for oily skin types.

If you are planning to use serums & sheet masks then these should be applied after the softener and before the cream.

I find that it's best to use only 1 pump of the cream if applied after a serum that also contains oil. It spreads very easily and wont look too oily/greasy that way. It was ok to apply more cream if I hadn't put any oils on my face previously.

(For example, my Klairs Vitamin Drop serum contains some natural oils, but my Thelavicos Vitamin C Ampoule doesn't.)

Ingredients: Purified Water, Butylene Glycol, Squalane, Glycein, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cetearyl alcohol, Beeswax, Alpha-bisabolol, Olive Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Zinc PCA, Lactobacillus/Hippophae Rhamnoides Ferment Filtrate, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Rabdosia Rubescens Extract, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Octyldodecanol, Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract, Pectin, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Astragalus extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Niacinamide, Sophora Flavescens Root Extract, Mulberry Root Extract, Allantoin, Oryzanol, Cholesterol, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Arginine, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil, C10-40 Isoalkyl Acid Cholesterol Esters, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Jojoba Esters, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Carbomer, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance. Enriched Concentate - a product that has very similar ingredients to the face cream it came with, but it contains more plant extracts. Whitening ingredients like sophora & mulberry are also higher up on the list. So I'm guessing it has stronger whitening properties and could be used as a spot treatment.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Vegetable Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate, Beeswax, Alpha Bisabolol, Olive Leaf Extract, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Zinc PCA, Lactobacillus/Hippophae Rhamnoides Ferment Filtrate, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Rabdosia Rubescens Extract, Sophora Flavescens Root Extract, Mulberry Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Sodium Hyaluronate , Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Octyldodecanol, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate, Oryzanol, Cholesterol, Niacinamide, Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract, Pectin, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Astragalus Extract , Licorice Extract, Green Tea Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Skullcap Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, C10-40 Isoalkyl Acid Cholesterol Esters, Jojoba esters, Arginine, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Carbomer, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cetyl alcohol, Methylparaben, Fragrance. Conclusion
This set has worked well for me. I loved the scent of these products and my skin felt very soft & pampered after using them. The brightening effect is pretty average - it takes a bit time to notice, but they are definitely there. (No surprise here, I actually read you can only use the word "white" in a product name in Korea if it's been KFDA approved to have a whitening effect.)

Lastly, I like how well these products promote the skin's healing process, which is probably thanks to alpha-bisabolol. The only downside is that they are probably quite expensive. (Read below.)

Where to buy & more information
Isiloe is manufactured by Hwajin Cosmetics. Unfortunately, I'm not really sure where you can buy this set. It seems to be relatively new as Hwajin has uploaded many introducing videos of this set to their youtube channel recently.

Overall, Isiloe seems to be quite expensive as I saw some of their sets being sold for more than $200. You can get more information (in Korean) about this set from their official website.

Do you use whitening skin care?
