New in: MAC Faerie Whispers + Swatches!

One of the latest MAC collections to hit the stores is called Faerie Whispers. Have you spotted it already?

The collection has a beautiful promo picture and cute faerie themed shade names, however the products itself have a regular black MAC packaging, so it's not one of these ~super exciting~ MAC collections. Perhaps the most outstanding part of this collection is the 'Foiled' Shadows which have a beautiful texture that I haven't seen before.

MAC "Fly By Twilight" Foiled Shadow
gray with a tinge of brown

Other products in this collection might not be as different from regular MAC products, but the light color theme seems to suit well for those with very fair complexion (like me!).

MAC "Spellbinder" Blush
pastel yellow pink

While the last MAC blush I tried applied a bit dry and patchy, then "Spellbinder" is wonderful and looks great on my fair skin! :)

MAC "Gossamer Wing" Lipstick and "Softly Lit" Cremesheen Glass

These are both very sheer & have almost no pigment in them. While I do love MAC and their lipsticks, I wouldn't recommend "Gossamer Wing". It doesn't really show up on lips and pretty much feels like I'm wearing a lip balm that has some glitter in it and costs $17. Other lipsticks in this collection were more pigmented, though, so you might want to check them out.

As for the lipglass, it's also very sheer and looks almost transparent on lips. However, I like it, because I can pair it with pretty much anything.

Lastly, there were also 2 nail polishes and 2 brushes in this collection. The brushes being 221 Mini Tapered Blending Brush & 133 Small Cheek Brush to go with the shadows & blushes, I suppose.

I already have 221 and it's a great brush. It's a bit smaller than my Sigma E25 blending brush, so I can do more precise blending with it, especially in the crease area, however it also works for applying & blending eyeshadows all over my lid.

All in all, this collection is lovely. A fairly safe one, but I do like it's color theme! :)

Did you or will you pick anything up from Faerie Whispers collection?

  2. I was considering picking some items up, but figured the colors were a bit too normal for me. Didn't stop me from totally staring at everything!!!!

    1. Haha, i guess i know what you mean. However these "normal" light colors work very well for me! :D But sometimes a collection just looks better and more fascinating when you look at the products together not separately.
