Are your blogging efforts failing to pay off as much as you hoped? If so, don’t panic - there is still plenty you can do to turn things around and there’s also a good chance you are still making one or more of the common mistakes made by many rookie bloggers. In today’s guide, I’m going to go through some of the tried and tested methods successful bloggers use to improve their exposure and performance. Let’s get started right away.
1. Write better blog postsFirst of all, it’s time to ask yourself a tough question - are you really creating first-class blog content for your audience? Many bloggers just regurgitate the same old fluff and tired old stories that have been read a million - or more - times before. Compelling content takes a long time and a lot of hard work to create - so stop writing articles in half an hour and start taking your time to focus on quality rather than quantity.
2. Reach out to other bloggersTo achieve blogging success, you have to become an authority in your field - it’s as simple as that. However, this can be tough to do when you are just posting on your blog alone. You should make a list of all the best blogs in your industry and reach out to their owners, asking them if you can guest post on their blog. It gives you links pointing to your site, which also help to increase your DA. According to GuestPostTracker.com, there are several things you must do before submitting a guest post, including setting up internal links and optimizing every link to your website. Start reaching out now and you should be able to establish more success pretty soon.
3. Invite guest bloggersOf course, you can also use guest bloggers on your blog too. This will help you publish more content on your site, as well as get more followers from your guest blogger’s connections. If you are looking for more exposure, using a guest blogger is a great tactic to employ.
4. Build an Email listOnce you are providing better content across more platforms, you should be able to start building a bigger Email list. It’s essential that you do this, as email is still the most efficient method of enticing people to your site. Try encouraging people to sign up to your email list by offering a free gift - an ebook, for example. PRDaily.com recommends you also run contests on social media to entice more people to sign up.
5. Write for your audience
Analyze your current content to see which topics are the most popular among your audience. Doing so will give you a much better insight into what you should focus on in the future. It’s all simple stuff, really, but essential if you want to write content that appeals to your core following.
