How To Stubbornly Refuse To Grow Older

Beauty may look like a bed of roses, but we all know it isn’t. Maintaining a youthful look that not only impresses others, but also pleases us on a personal level, is practically impossible. You’re always going to be critical of the way you look, however that’s a good thing. As soon as you can accept that there is no such thing as perfection, you’ll be able to look in the mirror and realize you already look beautiful. You have always looked beautiful. It took me a while to realize this, but I think it’s the key to staying young.

The core of being healthy and looking good, whatever your age, is being happy. I have no doubt you’re rolling your eyes at the screen right now, thinking that I’m just throwing tired, worn-out, cheesy lines at you. However, it’s true. Being happy has a proven effect on your health. Not to mention the fact that a happy, smiling face seems to make people appear younger. Fear, sadness and anger can add years onto the face of even quite a young person. That’s something worth considering.

Of course, achieving the beauty look you want can be helped by something a little more than a big smile.

Lifestyle changes

This is the big one. Changing your lifestyle might work absolute wonders for holding back the inevitable wave of ageing brought on by nature. This isn’t to say you’re not already a healthy person. You may already live quite a vibrant, active lifestyle. Perhaps you don’t smoke or drink, which is obviously great for your health. Not only does it help to prevent heart diseases or cancer, but it’ll prevent the deterioration of your skin, face and body. It’ll keep you looking young, as well as keeping you healthy. Still, that’s not to say you shouldn’t have the odd drink here and there if you enjoy a glass of wine in the evening.

A better diet can work wonders for your health too. As we age, our appetite decreases, but that doesn’t mean our body needs certain vitamins and minerals any less. Ensure you have some fruit and a few vegetables every day, because you might find your skin glows a little more and you feel a little less fatigued throughout the day.

Medical procedures

If you’ve really given it thought, then I don’t want to dissuade you from the possibility of cosmetic assistance on your road to beauty. Professionals like Dr Malcolm could help you with this. Still, this isn’t a decision you should take lightly. Whether you’re young or old, your body is still very much in your hands. If you eat and exercise well, you’ll already start to notice the effects on your skin. A healthy mind and a healthy body can miraculously de-age anybody, if you embrace a new lifestyle properly. It’s all about what works for you. Every decision made must be your choice.

Get spruced up

Don’t be afraid to go the extra mile every now and then. No matter how old you are, and whether you’re a man or a woman, we all want to look good sometimes. We all want to spend a fair bit of time in front of the mirror fretting over that one disobedient strand of hair. Treat yourself to an appointment at the hair salon, get your nails done and add a touch of makeup. Then, go out for a nice meal with friends or family to show off your ageless beauty.
